Who Are You?
I am a graduate of a Publishing Masters from Derby University, with Distinction. I am a writer, an artist and a singer, with a great passion for quality storytelling. When engaging with a text, I am typically thinking: “What does it mean for this story that the creator(/creative team) has used this technique? How could this be told better?”
I can often be sighted playing my ukulele in local parks, squeaking back at my guinea pigs and watching sitcoms. I love to learn new things and repeat them to my indulgent friends as “fun facts”.
My experience in the childcare and social care sectors have developed my skills in playfulness, problem-solving and patience, all of which have served me well when working with writers. I don’t think there is a more important skill for a professional in this line of work than the ability to communicate in a way that makes people comfortable and valued.
I love the opportunity to work directly with writers and make a piece of creative work as good as it can be made. I love to encourage people, and to find something to love in every text.
